POST REMARKS NTPC invites proposals from leading organizations to participate in joint venture company proposed to be incorporated in India for taking up works related to Renovation and Modernisation of power stations in India and abroad. Qualifying requirements for Joint Venture Partner (JVP) for R&M are : Technical Requirements: (1) The JV partner should be regular manufacturer of Steam Generators and should have designed, engineered, manufactured, erected, tested and commissioned at least three pulverised coal fired Steam Generators and Turbine Generators & Auxiliaries of minimum 100 MW each. The JVP should have executed R&M projects on a turnkey basis on at least three units of minimum 100 MW each rating. The prospective JVP should submit formal evidence for the above. The above requirements could be offered by either one partner or through an association of two partners. (2) Companies other than manufacturers can be considered too, provided they are an Operating Utility having installed generating capacity of 2,000 MW of which pulverised coal fired Steam Generators should not be less than 1,000 MW. (3) The Engineering Procurement Contractors (EPC) having carried out comprehensive engineering, procurement, contracting, erection, testing and commissioning of at least three units of minimum 100 MW capacity each of pulverised coal fired Steam Generators and Turbine Generators with associated piping can be considered too. (c) Design Audit and Operating System Audit, Root Cause Analysis. (d) Supply, erection, commissioning & testing of equipment/components required for the R&M project. (e) Reserve engineering of old/damaged component, i.e., decoding of material specification, developing manufacturing drawings for repair/refurbishment/replacement/upgrading. (f) Review and Refurbishment/Up-gradation of Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Systems. (g) Demonstration of all the contractual guaranteed parameters & machine availability of at least 75% in the suceeding year after R&M. The prospective JVP shall submit formal evidence for the above mentioned points. Financial Requirements: (a) Willingness to take an equity stake with equal proportions between NTPC and JVP, and the balance, if any, would be offered to Public/Financial Institutions. (b) JVP should be in the R&M business for a minimum period of 5 years and the turnover of JVP should be approximately US $ 125 Million per annum during the last 3 years and should have a net worth equivalent to approximately US $ 25 Million.
