The power plant consists of 8 engines in combined cycle mode with exhaust gases boilers in each engine and one steam turbine, without any extra burning of fuel, increasingly significantly the efficiency of the complex. As said previously, today there are only two reliable reciprocating engines suppliers of that size in the world market, which are Wartsila from Finland and MAN from Germany. Both had in their portfolios HFO engines, with remarkable experience. However, Wartsila has bigger experience with their engines, the 18V46 with 16.9 MW, because is a power plant worldwide leader with reciprocating engines. MAN had also a very good records with their engines, 18V48/60, with 18.5 MW. On table 5.1, can be seen a comparison of both configurations presented by the manufacturers. The main fuel is RFO. The main components of the plant are 8 gensets from Wartsila of 18V46 type, 16.9 MW each (at site conditions) plus a steam turbine of 8.4 MW. As the auxiliary power consumption of the plant is estimated at 2.3 MWe, the overall net electrical output of the plant is 147.0 MWe. The power plant will be connected to NTDC's 132 kV grid. 5.3 Plant Performance Configuration The Stationary power plant is equipped with 8 engines of the Wärtsilä 18V46 type, as the prime mover.
